As a small business owner, we’re often obsessed with problems. Unfortunately, we often fixate on the major problems; the ones that are the most unlikely to ever occur. We find ourselves plagued by the thoughts of that massive, business ending, bankrupting lawsuit, when in reality, it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever face one.
All too often, what we refuse to worry about are the chronic problems that we experience in our businesses.
We put off learning new things. We run from the thought of updating our equipment or our software. We try our hardest not to change the way we do things every day.
Let’s face it, we do have a big problem.
It’s not the threat of lawsuits. It’s the fact that we don’t want to have to deal with the short-term discomfort that comes with working toward long-term benefits.
