We’ve Got to Press for More

Honest feedback.

It’s the lifeblood of every business owner, but it’s so hard to get.

We can ask our clients to let us know where they think we can improve, but most people are going to give us some throwaway answer like “You’re doing a great job” or “Don’t change anything.”

But if we’re really serious about getting better, we’ve got to press for more.

Thank them for the kind words, but keep asking. It won’t always work, because it’s an uncomfortable feeling to offer criticism to someone, even if it’s being done in a constructive manner.

But if we’re really serious about getting better, we’ve got to press for more.

It will take some time, and it will take lots of practice, but eventually we’ll perfect our ask. We’ll be able to (occasionally) get that valuable information that we’re looking for.

Because if we’re really serious about getting better, we’ve got to press for more.

Then it’s up to us to decide what to do with that “more.”
