Pick a Winner

Talking about AI is all the rage right now, but it’s pretty unlikely that we’ll ever have an AI home inspector. There’s simply too much to do, too many places to crawl into, too much stuff to handle, and too many personalities to juggle to ever imagine someone figuring out how to turn that much computer programming into a profitable enterprise.

Individual human inspectors are probably here to stay, but that doesn’t mean that each one will be unique. It’s much too easy to fall into the trap of cheap consumerism, working to duplicate the “success” of McDonald’s and Burger King.

Fast, inexpensive, and passable seems to be the way of the modern world, and most businesses fall right in line, offering the same crap as everyone else at an even cheaper price.

And that’s exactly what most clients want.

Thankfully, we have a choice in who we work for. We don’t have to choose to do business with “most clients,” we can pick the ones we want.

Which ones will we pick? Well, that part’s up to us.
