In business, like life, there’s always a hard part. The thing we dread. The obstacle we don’t feel like tackling right now. The detail that needs to be worked out before we can move on. The linchpin upon which all other success rests.
But it’s hard, so we put it off.
We’ll work on this other thing instead. It’s easier. It’s less involved. “It’s a quick win,” we tell ourselves.
But the hard part is still there, looming over us, clouding our mind and haunting our dreams. We know we have to get it done… but it’s hard.
Most people never address the elephant in the room. They whittle away at the edges, never really confronting their biggest challenge. Too afraid to step out on the ledge, to take the plunge, to conquer their fears and do what they know needs to be done.
The hard part is hard for a reason.
If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullshit story you keep telling yourself as to why you can’t achieve it.
