Wasting Time, Naturally

We waste a lot of time. It’s unfortunate, but (for most of us) we can chalk it up to human nature.

Very few people are wired to be full-on, 100% of the time. If you’re one of those rare people, congratulations. You have my admiration (and some envy thrown in there too).

For the rest of us, wasting time comes naturally. We can come up with a multitude of excuses why we’re not working on that thing we really know we should be doing. We’re too tired. We’re stressed out. We really need to do this one thing first. We’ll feel better and be more focused tomorrow.

Life is a constant journey towards learning to be better. A better person. A better friend. A better partner. A better business owner. A better human.

Nobody’s perfect. We all fall short. We all make excuses when we don’t achieve our objectives.

We all know that we’re not there yet, and maybe we never will fully reach those goals, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t keep trying.

Learning is the difficult work of experiencing incompetence on our way to mastery.
