Cutthroat

The internet is both a great and terrible place, especially for small business owners. It allows us to easily reach potential customers and flog our wares, while at the same time making it easy for those same potential customers to pit us against each other in a pricing race to the bottom.

It’s a destructive environment, and causes us to fight each other constantly, breeding contempt instead of comradery.

Working together makes a lot more sense for us, our businesses, our industry, and our bottom lines. The current cutthroat atmosphere leads us to where we are today: faced with inspection prices that, on average, haven’t changed much in the last 15 years.

It’s up to us to make the move from this arena. We find ourselves stuck in the low-priced inspection vacuum when we first start working, but how long we stay there is entirely up to us. Once we get a few jobs under our belt, and a few clients start trusting us, it’s time to move up the ladder to greener pastures (and higher paying customers).
